PROJECT DESCRIPTION: QCS provided structures and coatings inspection for this two-year project which consisted of the demolition and replacement of the Mastick Road Bridge in Fairview Park, Ohio. This unique, cantilevered, side-hill structure was built by Kokosing Construction for the Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works. The new 415 foot long, 13-span concrete structure carries two driving lanes and a walking/biking path separated from the roadway by a concrete barrier wall. Constructed behind each abutment along the down-slope side of the approaches are two soldier pile retaining walls with steel H-piles and concrete lagging. Also, constructed along the uphill-side of the bridge is a cast-in-place concrete retaining wall measuring approximately 415 feet in length.
